Golden Orange fest accepting applications

The Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival is now accepting competition applications. The 46th year of the festival, organized by the Antalya Foundation for Culture and Arts with support from Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, will be held from Oct. 10 to 17.

The festival will include competitions for feature films, short films and documentaries. This year’s winner will receive 300,000 Turkish Liras. The festival’s competitors will include well-known directors such as Zeki Demirkubuz and Reha Erdem, as well as foreign and new directors.

Films produced after Oct. 1, 2008, are eligible to compete in the national feature, short film and documentary categories, and the international competition will accept films produced over the last two years. The deadline is Aug. 17 for applications to the national feature film competition, Aug. 21 for national short films and national documentary films, and Aug. 15 for the international film competition. The application results will be announced Aug. 24.
Turkish films competing in the national feature film competition are eligible only if they have not received a best film award from any other competition, or if they have not been shown on TV or distributed in DVD format.
